RESTORE YOUR HAIR AND YOUR CONFIDENCE WITH A HAIR IMPLANT!

Hair loss in women is common. Thinning hair, along with other signs, such as excessive hair loss, can lead to worry and lower self-esteem. Fortunately, the DHI team can help restore your hair through a unique hair transplant procedure, which places hairs one by one.

Am I a candidate for a hair transplant?

The best way to determine if you are a candidate for hair restoration is to schedule a consultation with our DHI medical specialist, who will assess the current condition of your scalp, whether or not you are suffering from alopecia and therefore the best treatment.

The most common hair loss and the one we treat in our clinic is androgenic alopecia. The key is early attention.

You may be a candidate for an implant if you have experienced any of these signs

  • Gradual thinning at the top of the head.
  • Empty areas on the scalp.
  • Increasing or unusual hair loss.

During your consultation, DHI professionals will perform a complete examination of your scalp, as well as diagnostic tests to evaluate the quality and density of the back of the head, as this is where the healthy hairs will be taken from, and it must be optimal to be considered a donor area.

What is the DHI Hair Transplant procedure?

The DHI hair transplant procedure consists of placing hair follicles of the same person in a place where there are empty spaces or less density than before.
The procedure lasts a few hours and you can return home on the same day.  It is safe and in a controlled environment. The use of local anesthesia will take away any pain or discomfort you may have.
Hair follicles are cared for, complying with strict protocols to achieve the highest effectiveness, taking care of the vitality of the hair follicles in order to achieve successful and natural-looking results.

There is no visible scarring in the implanted or donor area due to the strict safety guidelines and protocols followed by DHI's certified staff.

After the hair restoration is complete, full results are seen in about a year. If your hair is long, it may take 18-24 months before all the hairs on your scalp match in length.

Why should I choose a DHI hair transplant procedure?

You have surely heard about techniques such as FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) or FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) also known as the strip technique. These techniques require previous cuts in the skin during the implantation process, they are carried out by multiple technicians simultaneously, altering the desired results. In addition, in the FUT technique, it is necessary to cut and remove part of the back part of the scalp, requiring stitches in the donor area.

On the other hand, the DHI technique requires no cutting in the donor area and the patented implanter allows one hair to be placed very close to the other for a natural result. The procedure is performed from start to finish by a single, internationally trained hair transplant doctor.

What should I expect during my hair transplant procedure?

DHI has simple steps to success:

Welcome: Informed consent, comfortable clothing for the procedure, taking of vital signs, before and after photos, marking of the selected design, haircut and scalp wash, then we will move on to the two important phases in the elaboration of a hair transplant.

1. EXTRACTION PHASE
The patient is positioned on a soft and comfortable table face down in order to extract the follicles precisely one by one. It is performed with a punch of 1mm or less in diameter, customising the angle, depth and direction of each hair.

The extracted follicles are cleaned, sorted by hair number and arranged in a special tray, which contains hypothermosol (a substance that maintains the vitality of the hair for hours when outside the skin).

The time the procedure takes will vary from patient to patient as it depends on the ease of extraction, the type of skin, the quality of the donor area and the type of follicles, however, it will last a maximum of 4 hours. A count is made every hour until the agreed amount is reached.

Once the extraction is finished, the patient will be informed of the exact number of hairs and follicles extracted, to proceed to a lunch or rest period of 20 to 30 minutes.

2. IMPLANTATION PHASE
The implantation is performed after lunch, having all the hairs extracted and counted. After observing the affected area, a personalised mathematical distribution of the hair follicles is carried out in order to guarantee optimum results and as the patient coordinated with the doctor from the day of the assessment.

The follicles are placed one by one with the help of our patented implanter, which allows the specialist to implant according to the angle, direction, and depth that each patient requires, obtaining great results with the desired density.

When will I see the results?

The results can be seen as early as 7 days after the procedure. You will see the hair grow having a slight idea of how the implant will look.

It is important to bear in mind that when transplanting hair from one place to another the life cycle is altered, a shock phase or hair loss will occur, beginning around the first month and up to month 4. This happens since the hair needs to fall in order to grow permanently, approaching month 5 you will begin to notice the changes of the implant with final results 12-18 months after the procedure. It is important to take into account that the existing hair will not change the course of its life cycle, only the implanted one for approximately the first 4 months.
